Truffle Dog Company

I was tasked with reaching out to an actual company and determine if they had a need for any copyediting and comprehensive editing of written business materials or manuals. I reached out to Truffle Dog Company (TDC), based in Seattle, WA, and asked if they could use my services. I worked on editing quick reference flyers for TDC's truffle hunting students and truffle buying clients.

The scope of the project was to apply principles of copyediting and comprehensive editing to create a consistent set of documents for Truffle Dog Company (TDC). This project consisted of eight different documents: seven Truffle Care Guides and one guide on Washington state regulations applicable to mushroom hunting/foraging. I altered the documents to create consistency, unity, and readability. Readers are often on a mission to complete a task and I kept that in mind as I edited these documents.

The largest revisions I made were to the content organization into subsections to increase readability. These changes were made to create a set of documents that are easy to use and update and are clear and readable for the audience, without taking away from the conversational nature of the content.
