Poster

This poster was created to attract truffle hunters to sign up their dog and human team to compete in The Joriad, a truffle hunting competition. To respond to this off-beat group of people, I chose a warm gradient background and eye-catching, yet readable font family to draw people in. The main imagery is a silhouette of a dog hunting truffles and has been framed to draw attention to the subject matter.

Personal Data Infographic

For this infographic, I collected personal data from several weeks measuring sleep type, sleep quantity, and alcohol consumption over time. The data was initally entered into Microsoft Excel to create the basic graphs, followed by Adobe Illustrator to further refine the graphs, colors, and add text. This infographic went through several peer reviewed iterations where all aspects of the product were commented on and altered to create this final version.

Voting Data Infographic

This infographic related percentage of voter turnout by age over the course of several voting cycles, method for casting votes by age group, and voting methods by state. The data was sourced through government databases, the graphs were created in RStudio, and the design was finalized in Adobe Illustrator. The goal was to identify various connections in the data and create visualizations for U.S. voters to get them thinking about how voting method, age, laws, and outcomes are interrelated.

Document Redesign

Here, I found a landscape mailer from Blue Sky Landscaping & Gardening Services that struggled to communicate a message due to design issues. The goal was to create a redesign that increased readability and visual engagement through use of a grid system, consistent typography, color, and white space.

Original Document

The original mailer was bright yellow with navy blue print and several fonts. The composition of the original was difficult to read, due to lack of a grid system.

I analyzed the issues in this document and created a plan to revise the design to improve information organization and dissemination to potential clients.

Redesigned Document

The redesign was created in Illustrator. Although it looks white here, the document is a very light yellow with navy blue print and a more unified font selection. The services offered were organized thematically by category, similar to the original.

I followed a clear grid for information with more white space to improve readability and increase visual engagement.
